Supplier Code of Conduct

These standards are guided by the OECD Guidelines For Multinational Enterprises, United Nations Global Compact, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) Labour Standards.

  1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Biomason’s suppliers must comply with all applicable standards, regulation, and laws in the countries in which they operate.
  2. Human Rights: Biomason’s suppliers must respect the human rights of all individuals and must not engage in any activity that violates the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights or OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
  3. Labour Practices and Workers Rights: Biomason’s suppliers must respect the rights of their employees, provide a safe and healthy work environment, and must not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, disability, partnership status, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other status protected by law. Biomason expects suppliers to ensure: employment is freely chosen and no forced labour, no use of child labour, no excessive working hours, no discrimination or harassment, freedom of association, and that employee compensation is in compliance with applicable laws on wages and benefits.
  4. Environmental Responsibility: Biomason’s suppliers must adhere to all relevant environmental laws and regulations and must minimize their environmental impact. They must strive to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), non-renewable energy consumption, waste generation, pollution, impact of biodiversity, use of toxic or hazardous substances, water usage, and any other negative impact on the environment.
  5. Health and Safety: Biomason’s suppliers must have appropriate policies and procedures in place to prevent accidents and injuries and protect the health and safety of their employees, customers, and the public.
  6. Anti-corruption and anti-bribery: Biomason’s suppliers must conduct their business with transparency and integrity and must not engage in any corrupt or fraudulent practices. Biomason’s suppliers must prohibit all forms of bribery, corruption, extortion, and embezzlement.

Biomason expects its suppliers to adhere to this code of conduct. Beginning in 2024, Biomason will regularly review and assess supplier compliance with these standards and will not commence doing business with any supplier that does not meet these standards. As of 2025, Biomason will discontinue business with any existing suppliers that are unable to meet these standards.
